GPS Simulation (Extended Lesson)
In this multi-period lesson, students participate in an interactive group activity designed to explore how GPS satellites determine the location of a receiver on earth. Using Pythagoras‰۪ theorem, students can determine the distance that signals must travel between satellites and receivers, and use this information to find the location of other groups‰۪ secretly-chosen cities on a map.
